Fish Tacos

Tuesdays are taco night in my family and our favorite kind is fish tacos. This version is similar to the kind we enjoy in Sayulita, Mexico when we visit. They are traditionally made with breaded white fish such as haddock or cod, but you can use any type of fish you like and your tacos will be delicious. I’ve made these with salmon and they were awesome or pan fried shrimp are also a nice alternative.

  • Ingredients
  • 4 frozen breaded fish fillets
  • 8-12 hard taco shells or soft tortillas
  • 2 cups lettuce
  • 1 lime, quartered
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • Ranch dressing, hot sauce and salsa as desired


Bake frozen fish according to directions or make my Herb Crusted Fillets from scratch. If they are large slice into smaller pieces after cooking is complete. Set out taco shells and/or tortillas, fish and condiments. To assemble, place 1 fillet on the center of your shell and top with lettuce, salsa and ranch dressing as desired. Finish with a squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of cilantro.
