Red Velvet Brownies
These delicious brownies are perfect for any occasion, I and especially like to make them on Valentine’s Day with their gorgeous red color. The moist chewy texture is delicious and the red velvet flavor is a great alternative to traditional chocolate. They are especially good served with vanilla ice cream.
- Ingredients
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 cup flour
- Powdered sugar or cream cheese icing (if desired)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9 x 12 inch baking pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients for the batter except the flour. It should be very smooth and thick. Add the flour and stir just until combined. Pour into the pan. Place on the center rack in your oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. (You can cover with plastic wrap and place into the fridge to speed up the process) Dust with powdered sugar or cream cheese icing if desired.
*For a healthier variation of these brownies, you can include the following additions:
- 1/4 cup hemp hearts
- 1 scoop Miracle Reds Superfood
