Rye & Ginger BBQ Glaze

Rye and Ginger Ale is one of my favorite highballs and the base flavors work very well in many different types of recipes. For this glaze I chose to add some sweet and savory additions to keep the recipe balanced and fresh. And on this occasion chicken and prawns were the star on the show but the glaze also works nicely on pork or salmon.

  • Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup rye
  • 1/3 cup ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • Fresh pepper to taste


Combine all the ingredients for the glaze and place it into a small pot over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Brush on your favorite meat, fish or seafood and grill to perfection.
