Energy Building Green Smoothie

I love having smoothies almost any time of day, but especially when I need a pick-me-up. This green smoothie is great for breakfast, after a workout or during that afternoon lull. It has such a fantastic aroma and fresh flavor, you’ll be perked up in no time. The ginger and mint really give this smoothie its kick. You can change out the fruits and greens you use you use with whatever you have on hand. I like the green apple flavor but additional fruit may be added such as mango, pineapple or melon which will add sweetness without changing the green color.
- Ingredients:
- 1 green apple, sliced
- 2 kiwis, peeled
- 1 cup mixed greens (spinach, arugula, kale)
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- 1 handful mint
- 2 cups fresh apple juice
- 1 cup ice if desired
DIRECTIONS:
Blend juice and greens first. Pulverize them so no chunks remain. Add remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly.
