Baked Ham with Pineapple Glaze

Baked Ham with Pineapple Glaze

This is a very simple, elegant dish which is perfect for any occasion. I like to make it when I have a large group at my table as it serves 8 (or more). The sweetness of the pineapple glaze is really nice with the ham and keeps the meat nice and moist. For an extra special presentation, grill the pineapple slices ahead of time and continue recipe as listed.

  • Ingredients
  • 3-4 pounds of smoked ham (black forest, honey, etc.)
  • 1 can sliced pineapple rings
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Open the can of pineapple and drain the juice into a saucepan. Remove 2 of the rings and finely chop. Add them to the pan along with the cloves and brown sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes until bubbly. Remove from heat, cover and set aside. Place the remaining pineapple rings into a roasting pan. Slice the ham and place it on top of the pineapple. Brush the ham with pineapple glaze and cover with foil. Place into the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and place onto a serving platter. Pour remaining glaze over top.
