Frangelico Tiramisu

Frangelico Tiramisu

This quick and easy tiramisu recipe comes together in minutes and has a light and creamy texture..  I love the added hazelnut flavor the Frangelico gives this dessert. It doesn’t overpower the dish, but rather gives everything a slightly nutty undertone, Amaretto or Disaronno could be used as well. This dessert can be made well in advance which makes it perfect for entertaining.

  • Ingredients
  • 3 cups strong coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup Frangelico liquor
  • 2 cups light cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 12 ladyfinger cookies
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Directions:

In a large bowl, mix together the coffee and liquor. Pour into a shallow dish. In a second bowl, beat together the cream cheese, whipping cream and sugar until fluffy. You can do this with an electric mixer or by hand. Spoon about 1/3 of the mixture on the bottom of an 8 x 8 pan. One by one, dip the ladyfinger cookies into the coffee mixture and place into the pan about 1/2 inch apart. Only dip the cookies for a few seconds otherwise they will get soggy. Once the first layer is complete spoon more of the cream on top and cover completely. Repeat the layers finishing with cream on top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and slice into squares.
