Muesli
This version of muesli is quite similar to the commercial brands but pound for pound it is a fraction of the cost and is packed with protein. I don’t use any sugar but if you like your cereal sweeter, you can sprinkle some on top. I buy all of my ingredients in bulk and mix up 8 cup batches as needed. You may substitute any of the dried fruit, nuts and seeds according to your taste.
- Ingredients:
- 4 cups large flake oats
- 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, cashews)
- 1 cup chopped dried fruit (apples, apricots, raisins)
- 1/2 cup seeds (pumpkin, sunflower)
- 1/2 cup hemp hearts
- 1/2 cup ground flax
directions:
Place all ingredients into a large bowl and combine until thoroughly blended. Place into a tightly sealed container until ready to use. It will stay fresh for up to one month.
